These patterns were read from the tannery in Shard.
The
weights listed in the notes are the those of the finished item.
I used unarranged red leucro pelts for all of the fluff (misc.)
patterns and then verified weights with a couple of other pelts and
hides. The weights listed ought to be used as a guide, as they may
vary by factors I did not take into account.
I don't believe that fluff items vary in weight depending upon the
outcome of the item, that is, I do not believe a perfect backpack
weighs anything different from a rough backpack. This, however, is
not the case with leather armors where the result of the item, and
perhaps even that of the skin, play a crucial role in how much it
weighs, how hindering it is and even the stats of the final
item.
Certain skins are just better suited to certain items.
Without a doubt, the most versatile skin would be the garg
hide, which can be arranged fairly early on for the up and coming
tanner. Croc skins and snow goblin skins seem to make fairly good
accessories, such as helms and gloves, but tend not to work terribly
well for full body armor in my experience. It would seem certain
hides are also poorly suited almost across the board, such as
la'tami and leucro hides which usually result in fairly poor tanned
goods. If you have enough skill that you're hunting poloh'izh,
you're almost certainly not reading this, but it'd appear those are
the penultimate in skins for making armor.
Given that I'm not entirely sure what factors play in, though I'm sure
it's mostly mech, the difficulties of the leather armors are based on
a rather subjective scale and are related to one another. So, if something
marked moderate is very easy for you, you ought to consider that anything
marked as difficult may not be all the difficult for you.
I'd also like to thank Stephinroth and Razputin for helping me with this
information.

were perfectly arranged.
